Bart’s Road To Success

Bart’s mantra has always been to ‘cook with passion’ – and has fashioned his own innovative cooking style. He is best known for his multi-award winning establishment ‘Essence Food Studio’ in Melbourne. He can be also be seen regularly on national television presenting seafood cookery on Channel 10’s ‘Escape with ET’.

Bart has contributed recipes and food articles for many Australian magazines. He produces the popular ‘gourmet’ section for Club Marine – Australia’s leading marine lifestyle magazine.

Bart has given a lifetime of service to the food industry and began his cooking career 39 years ago! Bart was trained at the famous Le Cordon Bleu Cookery School in Paris. He returned to Australia and proceeded to work at various 5 star Hotels including the Conrad International (Queensland) and the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne.

Bart had great success with his own restaurant ‘Bartholomew’s’ and later went on to work in Hong Kong, San Francisco and the U.K. He has taught commercial cookery as a Senior Lecturer for TAFE in South Australia.

Since 2002 Bart, along with his wife Alaine, created their dream of combining food, wine, music, theatre and art. Essence Food Studio was born and developed into a very successful business venture.

Bart Beek renowned chef presenter is able to impart his incredible depth of knowledge of all aspects of the culinary world with inspiration, passion and excitement.

What Bart Can Offer

Chef Presenter – Bart’s natural professional style as a chef presenter makes him highly sought after in the industry and his services are available to the corporate sector. He has given his services in the past for cookery judging and cooking presentations at festivals and special events,

Recipe Development – Bart has many years of experience in creating recipes to suit the specific needs of the client. For example, Mediterranean recipes utilising the wood fired oven and authentic Asian recipes with a modern twist.

Food Styling – Bart has been a food stylist for the past 15 years. He works closely with national and international food companies to help produce brochures, flyers and cookbooks.

Television Chef Presenter – He has vast experience on television and has been seen on national television for over 10 years. Bart has appeared on Channel 9’s Postcards, The Today Show and Today Tonight, Channel 7’s Food 4 Life and currently a regular presenter on Channel 10’s Escape with ET.
