An old mystery, an exciting adventure. Steeped in history, step back in time to experience life in rural Victoria at the Werribee Park historic farm.

To set the scene...
This interactive and entertaining play is set in 1866 at Werribee Park farm. Joe Higgs, head boundary rider, greets you as a new farm worker with enthusiasm. But his authority is often tested by Esther Mcleod, headstrong and fiercely independent. As night falls, what starts as a fun welcome to the farm, takes on a very sinister turn as Black Anny (an ancient creature terrorizing the farm,) comes out of her hiding.

Down to Earth focuses on the fascinating but often difficult life of the farm workers, pre-mansion days. At its peak, there were around 300 workers at the farm and as such was a very busy, self sufficient farm. There are many myths and legends especially in Europe, when unexplained deaths (often due to disease) were a daily occurrence. Local villagers believed the deaths were caused by evil legends, one of which was Black Anny.

What you need to know

• No modern paraphernalia are allowed such as portable telephones
  
  
• The toilets stopped working 100 years ago. Bathroom breaks must be taken before and after the performance
  
  
• Stay with the group at all times. If you wander off, you may never come back
  
  
• No touching of any items is permitted unless it is given to you
  
  
• Be weather mindful (there is no heating or cooling) and dress according to weather
  
  
• Performances are not cancelled for rain, only for extreme weather conditions. Umbrellas are not permitted
  
  
• At the farm, you will be walking over easy but rough grades. Walking shoes recommended

How to get there

Enter the Shadowfax Winery entrance (Gate 5) off K Road. Follow the signs to drive down to the farm.
